Bio
I grew up in Brooklyn, and, after a brief career as a teenage cellist, ended up studying English and Classics at Columbia. I received my B.A. (summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa) in 2011 with two Classics prizes and departmental honors; my senior thesis (on geographical elements in Statius’ Thebaid and Silvae) argued that Statius and rivers had a complicated relationship. My research interests in the past have included pastoral poetry and the limitations of genre. I'm currently writing a dissertation on the fragments of the early Roman historians, from Fabius Pictor to Licinius Macer.
