Description

Please join us on Friday, February 14th, for CHARTAE HORATIANAE, a workshop focusing on the rich collection of printed editions of Horace in Princeton's Firestone Library. The event has two goals: first, to familiar people with the holdings in the Firestone collection, their history, and their research potential; second, to connect scholars from various disciplines that have a shared interest in the material, with the hopes of encouraging research links between disciplines and universities, especially in the area of early modern scholarship and the Classics.

Our work will be guided by Professors Anthony Grafton (Princeton) and Ariane Schwartz(Dartmouth), and is being convened by Professor Joseph Farrell (Penn) and Aaron Kachuck(Princeton). The Workshop will involve guided tours through representative books, and collective work on select texts. CHARTAE HORATIANAE will be followed by a similar event in the Free Library (Philadelphia), and is an expansion of Princeton's Classical Literature Workshop.
